Fifth, fill out your Cosmos, which describes the world around your Knight, with at least one person or demon in each section (New Moon, Full Moon and Mistaken).
Sixth, Assign Guidance:
- In a four player game, the player across from you is your character's Mistaken, the player to your left your New Moon, the player to your right your Full Moon. You are your character's Heart. Let the other players look at your Cosmos to get some ideas. If they like, they may add a single character or idea to your Cosmos, preferably in their own section.
- In a three player game, the player to your left is your Mistaken, the player to your right is both your Full Moon and New Moon.
- In a five player game, the player two seats to your right does not share in your Cosmos.
Seventh, begin play. The first time in each session that your character is introduced to the world you should say the key phrase BUT HOPE WAS NOT YET LOST, FOR [Character Name] STILL HEARD THE SONG OF THE STARS.
You can start a scene as either Heart or Mistaken by saying AND SO IT WAS and describing the scene.
