Description: A big troll. Background: Dr. Totoro was once a major research figure at leading cybertechnology company. Lots of neat tricks. Very slick, very careful, very state-of-the-art. Tons of influence. Rather naive, but undeniably brilliant. An ambitious research associate who got tired of living in the Great Man's Shadow infected him with Katalyst, then discovered to his horror that at the request of Chief of Security, Dr. Totoro had implanted deadman switches and overrides in many of the major corporate officers. Security hadn't seen fit to mention this little ploy to said officers. Security & associate told the Board that Dr. Totoro (who was busily searching for a cure for himself) had become unreliable, and trumped up some charge to get him bounced out of the labs, making it impossible for him to find a cure. However, while his wits were still about him he had a lot of information and a lot of skill to use; and since he could see where the goblinization was going, a lot of incentive to use them *now*. Wanted [corp] to find his antidote for him. Started getting vindictive when this wasn't panning out. Started pushing, hard. Pretty pathetic, actually, by the time Aware found him. All the material at hand to continue with plans, but the strings were slipping from his fingers. Forgot passwords, wrote things down then couldn't figure out what they meant. Leaning heavily on drugs which were getting increasingly less effective. Aware arranged for an Increase Intelligence spell, ritually held - better than drugs, but not perfect, rather disturbing side effects. Magic intelligence is non-linear, intuitive, somehow *wrong* when examined analytically. Infinitely frustrating not to be able to explain one's reasoning even to oneself. Hard to trust it. And even with magic, the deterioration continues. Relations with others: Wendy--She disturbs him a lot. So that's what's going to happen when the intelligence is *all* magic, no trace of rational thought left....They can work together, but she makes him pretty uncomfortable, and he doesn't like explaining things to her. It frustrates him when she doesn't understand and it *scares* him when she does. Sheen--They get along fairly well. Sheen's not a scientist so doesn't make Totoro feel inferior, isn't afraid of him or too sickeningly pitying, can be counted on for honest assessments. Someday, though, the decker's going to push him too hard over some minor slip-up. And get his lungs ripped out. Dunsany-- A nice bit of work. The vintage stuff isn't as good as what they're doing today, but it's rugged. There's a lot of mutual respect between these two, filtered through some mutual misunderstanding. Totoro can't understand why Dunsany won't even consider having himself turned back into a human cosmetically, and God only knows what Dunsany is thinking, but it's obvious that the two aren't on the same level most of the time. However, Totoro probably feels more comfortable around Dunsany than much of the rest of the team. Shiko-- Little sister? Awkward? Probably likes her; everyone likes Shiko. Mixed. Shiko is sweet and nice and quite intelligent for a society girl. He's probably even looked out for her in the past. But he's got a problem with the fact that she's so close to Wendy, and that she summons spirits. On the other hand, she doesn't treat him like an outcast, and despite her incredibly high charisma, she doesn't hold it over him. She even made sure that he personally designed and installed all of her cyberware, and she seems quite happy with it.
