The Out of Context has served the Mighty One for a long time, offering protection from Dybuk when needed, and aiding smaller ships in their growth, and I hope to do a good job as Prophet of the Mighty One.
I'll select ships to be Mighty Chosen based on their accomplishments, not membership in any group. Ships that offer protection from Dybuk regularly are especially desirable. But no ship has a right to be chosen forever. If you think you'd make a good Mighty Chosen, feel free to hail me.
Here's a list of ships that have offered protection in the 100 turns since Dybuk was last out, and between turns 893 to 1378. (Only offers through the web page are counted which short changes ships like Anarchist that offer through email. Sorry about that, and I'll see if I can get more complete data someday to do a more thorough ranking.)
Youthful ships with engineering officer skill 7+ wishing to cast enlightenment are welcome to hail me.
Mighty Chosen who go on Holiday for more than a week or so may be replaced by active ships, but may be Chosen again when they return if they still qualify. Reinstatement is more likely if they're polite enough to ask the Prophet to remove them, instead of waiting until I find out through other means.
Mighty Chosen are expected to offer Dybuk Protection on a regular basis when Dybuk is out, at least 12 hours before the turn is scheduled to run, using the Dybuk protection page written by Galaxion and now maintained by Out of Context. (This doesn't apply to ships temporarily chosen while rebuilding favor from encountering Dybuk, or to youthful ships chosen just to cast enlightenment.)
If a Mighty Chosen (or anyone else) can't reach the protection server they should still announce their protection offer via the mailing list by sending to tbg-dybuk-protect@yahoogroups.com with a subject line like "1380 / S#26 / 650 / Out of Context / Banish" where the turn# is the turn# that will show at the top of your turn report when you're at that star. Leave off the Banish if you won't have 200 weaponry favor to cast that spell.
Mighty Chosen are encouraged to trade favor or praise the prophet if they have more than 200 favor and aren't casting some other spell, but it's not required.
Mighty Chosen are encouraged to offer engineering scholarships and spare low-tech warps to up and coming ships, to answer questions on trade and growth if they have the time, and to do what they can to make the game more fun. Actually, everyone is encouraged to do all that, even if not Chosen.
Anoli was working with Tribune Darius on ways to help more young ships, with my blessing and thanks. I hope that effort will continue with future Tribunes.
Former Prophet Repulse described the protection system very well.
Ships that meet Dybuk while offering protection will usually be chosen upon request for long enough to commune every turn to rebuild to 200 favor. If you meet Dybuk while not offering or taking advantage of protection, that's just the risk you decided to run.
On the turn any ship offers Dybuk protection it is not to attack, be attacked, or chase. It is not to be chased, unless the chase was already ongoing before protection was offered. Ships that violate this will become Enemies of the Mighty One, and listed on this page.
Other enemies of the Mighty One are: ships that release Dybuk, aid Dybuk Release, or carry any of the evil rings. Currently this includes:
No longer enemies:

When Dybuk's out, I expect all Mighty Chosen to offer protection via the Protection Page. Other ships are welcome to do so as well.
In the interest of trying new things and making protection more widely available, as an experiment I'm also offering to temporarily choose ships that meet me while Dybuk is out that satisfy all of these criteria:
I'd recommend that ships offering protection also have 200 medical favor to cast protect crew, but I don't require it -- it's your call.
The Fierce Prophet has said that he does not want his Chosen to be multi-chosen, and of course I'll honor that.
As soon as Dybuk's chained I'll drop the temporary Chosen.
I reserve the right to limit the number of temporary Chosen to maintain sustainable levels, but I'll be communing myself to afford extras. Feel free to hail me in advance to reserve a slot.
Ships that are not enemies or heretics of the Mighty One may trade engineering favor between pairs of ships without asking as long as they mention it in the SST. (It's also recommended but not required that they mail to tell me.) Mighty Chosen are especially encouraged to offer favor to young ships seeking enlightenment and to ships uncursing artifacts.
Ships that denounce without permission will be excommunicated, but usually forgiven after they post an apology in the SST and repay three times the favor taken.
If you have questions you can reach me at cdr AT telemancy.com.

The Mighty Prophet honors The Fierce Prophet's policy towards peaceful ships. The Mighty One honors trade, so any ship that attacks a weaponless ship is not suitable as Chosen of the Mighty One. (Enemies of the Mighty One are always fair game, however.)
The following ships have been granted the status of Peaceful ships by the Fierce Prophet as of turn 1434:
