brain brain brain brain

Hayama so did not want to go to the vet this morning, although I was able to convince him eventually. Along the way, though, I became the proud possessor of a number of lengthy scratches along my wrist. The longest goes from the back of my hand halfway to my elbow. A very fierce beast, my kitten. But I did get him to the vet, where they amazingly quickly removed his boy-bits and put an ID chip in him, then called me to tell me they were all done and he was recovering nicely and I can pick him up at 2. I am intensely, intensely relieved, and glad that they did things so quickly that I only had about forty minutes of worrying. It will be very good to pick him up this afternoon and finally be done with taking him to the vet for a while.

I did remember to bring in my CDs this morning, by the clever process of putting them into my laptop bag, which I needed to bring into work today so I can bring my laptop to gaming tonight. Currently I'm listening to a very nice Michael Nyman string quartet. Instrumental music is often best for writing to, since there aren't any words to get in the way of my brain.

Back, from a pleasant if rather zoneful lunch with Christy. I'm feeling really icky, unfortunately; upset stomach plus a pretty bad headache that seems to keep getting worse. And it's close to 2, so I'm going to go pick up Hayama and then spend the rest of the afternoon at home watching him recover, and maybe reading this SQLServer book.
