narf!

I have hints of a new colour scheme in mind, so my plan is to play wth style sheets sometime soon. I'd hoped to do it today (and may still manage), but other things have been getting in the way. Fun things, mostly; I'm back to having no work to do, and although I know I ought to go ask Jean-Luc for some, it's so enjoyable to be able to sit here writing and catching up on email and playing Battlefaeries that my resolve has so far failed me.

I had a nice lunch with coworkers, which was semi-planned so that I would actually go instead of a spontaneous offer that I'd turn down. We went to Kim's, the yummy Vietnamese place downtown that Moria introduced me to a few weeks ago. The food was good again, although ChrisE had to wait forever and a day to get his. Everyone agreed that it'd be worth going back to, which was good, since I'd really like to explore even more of their menu.

And I just remember the odd dream I had last night. There was this woman who was working as a maid for a rather scary guy (he reminded me of the main character from The Prisoner, actually). She knew he was the sort of guy who when he got angry preferred to achieve a victory over someone and then really rub it in, which made her really nervous. She had extremely long hair and kept it up, and somehow he figured out that she was stealing some of his wife's jewelry by taking her hair down, putting the jewelry inside of it, and then pinning it up into a bun again. As it turned out she looked a lot like his wife, so he put her in a car and sent her to a mental hospital, where he told them she *was* his wife so they'd be willing to commit her. She was cunning, and played along with it until he was gone, when she started telling the doctors that the reason her' husband' had done this is because he was sleeping with the maid and she'd caught them at it. They believed her and let her go, and she was working on some nasty plan to return to the scary guy's house and replace his wife without him knowing it when I woke up. I felt a bit weird about it all; it was sort of interesting to watch but I was really glad not to have been emotionally engaged by any of the characters -- they were all such unpleasant people, and I really didn't see the story coming to any good end.
