there is an art in allowing people to love you
I'm listening to Cyndi Lauper while documenting use cases, a process that requires taking lots of screenshots and then cropping them down to the bits I want. This song (Time after Time) is yet another one that makes me think of Diony and Arawn; there was a duet version of it on the Strictly Ballroom soundtrack, which I listened to a lot during that time. So much ephemereal memory. There's not a lot to say today, not for any bad reason but simply because my attention is very caught up in the creation of my use cases, and after the last two days I feel like I've gotten out most of the words that had been dammed-up inside my brain. I suppose the fact that I'm writing (key word) use cases helps, too, since that does involve taking a set of actions and using words to describe them. While eating Fig Newtons, in this particular case, since our office food order arrived today. Last night Jim and I saw Buffy, which was mind-explodingly good, and Angel, which was also good but not in the same arena, and then lots of Pop-Up video, which mostly made me laugh a lot, but in one particular case (a Madonna video, of all things), made me want to steal imagery. Woman in black draperies turning into a murder of crows! Good stuff, there. This weekend we're going to Roseville for 30 hours or so, to play an ARS Magica LaRP that Al has written. My brain is very far away from this, and would really prefer to stay home, dumping Fraggle Rock to tape and playing Suikoden. But I'll go. I'll even have a good time -- my character is really interesting; she reminds me of Katany in a lot of ways, so goodness only knows what might happen. Although Katany wasn't passionate about anything, whereas my ARS character is very passionate about one thing. Anyway, right now my brain is not in a LaRP space, but I expect that by the time I get to Roseville it will be. I've been talking about old mud characters rather a lot lately, haven't I? And look! It's time to go get my massage. Thank goodness, say my shoulders and my lower back and my legs. It's about bloody time. |
