Sheer Boredom

Do you know what tedious is? Tedious is going through every piece of code I've written in the last two months that uses the old way of doing dates and replacing it with the New World Order method of doing dates. It is not complex or challenging. Just tedious. It's taking me all day out of sheer boredom, because after twenty minutes of it I get restless and irritated and come over to this window to play with my webpages. I'd feel guilty about it, but this is the first day I've flicked since September began, so I mostly just feel annoyed at the boredom I'm having to endure. At least I have Concrete Blonde. I was listening to Eno earlier, and then Jon Hassell, but this much tedium demands a strong beat.

Notable web experience of the day: The Guy I Almost Was. Web comics. Jim sent this to me, I think mostly due to the domain name. I seem to have a lot of sheep in my life.

Vivek just said that he was going to change the new date class to do something very useful which will nonetheless cause me to have to go through all of my code /again/ so that I can remove the thing I did to compensate for the lack of what he's now writing. I make helpless noises of frustration and turn up the music. I want to finish this before I go home. Having it hanging over me all evening would just suck.

Okay. It's done. I'm going home now. My mom and I are going to go eat Su Hong. Jim's gone off to gaming, which is where I would be if my mom wasn't here. I mildly wish I didn't have to miss it, but my mom's presence is a rare event. I must make the most of it.
