I Survived Texas

I meant to write during WorldCon, really. In the end, though, I was just too busy; I didn't even manage to call Earl, despite having told him that I'd call him either Thursday or Friday night. But I was busy, she says plaintively. I really was.

Busy doing what? Well, ah. I went to panels from about 10am to 5pm, with side trips for food when there weren't any interesting panels. In the evenings I had more food, and then there was filking, which kept me busy until about 4am. Then five hours of sleep, and up again to do more panels and food and meeting people and such.

Teresa Nielsen Hayden had a good quote about this, which I am going to steal whole cloth.

"A great many things happened. I'm very clear on some of them; others I can recall, but not their significance. And there are some things I seem to remember, but frankly I don't believe them. I'd be willing to assume that I dreamt the whole thing while lying on a floor somewhere, except that would not account for my current location and condition."

That's what WorldCon was like. Really. Later I'll try putting together a list of the books I bought there.

My wrists are hurting again, probably because I've started to really enjoy mudding. The universe doesn't want me to enjoy mudding, apparently.

I'm continuing to work with style sheets, although I'm not yet ready to display my attempts to the world. I have a terrible colour sense, and Earl (being colour-blind) is of course no help. 'What colours should I do my links in, dear?' 'Oh, ah, green and blue are good, high-contrast colours.'

Isn't he helpful?
