this and that
The kitten, happily, remains stable. She still has no balance, and still won't use her litterbox (much preferring a towel in my lap or Jim's lap -- but it's not clear if she actually prefers the towel, or is just completely unaware of all bathroom experiences until they've already occured), but she continues to eat and drink and groom herself and complain loudly when she's not either in someone's lap or at least lying near them. My mood swings wildly between extremely hopeful and a sort of quiet resignation. It's still possible she has FIP, and still possible she might get worse soon (or even not so soon) and be gone, but for the moment she is here and happy and seems to be doing quite well, so I am mostly good. The fact that her case has been handed to my usual vet & said vet is much more optomistic than the urgent care vet was doesn't hurt either. There's a lot of stuff going on in my life. Angie and Kirby and I are all taking a Japanese class at the UCSC Extension in Cupertino. The classes run on Wednesdays, 6-9:30, and the first one was last week. It was pretty enjoyable despite being a little repetitive in places; the three of us have the advantage of being very familiar with spoken Japanese due to watching so much anime, so we're not having to slowly step through pronounciation. I have hopes that it will speed up. The teacher seems to have a sense of humor, which is nice. |
