I bought a ton of CDs last night, but maintained some amount of
financial virtue by doing so at a used CD store. Purchases included
Suzanne Vega, Rush, Aimee Mann, Genesis, Oingo Boingo, REM, and a
random band called Dream Theater of unknown genre.
Then I went to Borders and bought two Brian Eno albums (my original
intent in going to the used CD place, in fact) -- Here Come the
Warm Jets and Music for Airports. I'm not sure how
much I'll like either of them, but I like the two Eno albums I have
enough that listening to the rest of his work seems like a good risk to
take.
Right now I'm listening to Concrete Blonde, Still in
Hollywood. The title track is incredible, and the second track
(a cover of Leonard Cohen's Everybody Knows -- yes, that's
why the title) gives me chills every time I hear it.

Everything else in my life involves work. The end is distantly in
sight. Jim is very patient. I dream about Java. In a way I guess
enjoy all of this. It's nice to push myself so hard and know that
eventually it'll be over and, hopefully, there'll be a good product to
show for it.
