This was described at the listening station as "post trip-hop". I don't know enough about the current subgenres to even know what "trip-hop" describes, really, but this glittering, idiosyncratic album is pervasively delightful.
It's also fun. These two don't just play music, they play with the music. Some of it is reminiscent of skat singing, though you don't usually hear that with rock rhythms and quirky samples and addictive bass.
"Fun for Me", the first track, is also my favorite, though the entire album lives up to it -- it's fun for me, goofy happy audioplay that's sometimes snide but never cynical.
