Friday?

I got to work today and just couldn't believe it was Friday.

I'm not sure if it was 'cause the week felt way too long, or if it was 'cause I'd had so little time to get all the things done that needed to be done, or something. I got a slew of specifications done on top of everything else in the morning, but was still feeling pretty disoriented.

Lunch was fun. The whole crew went to the Italian deli, got milled through the grinder of their really efficient sandwich making system, and then we headed to a park, nearby to just sit out in the sunshine and eat. It was fun just to talk with everyone and get a sense of them, of their personalities, of how they fit in with everyone and everything else. Relaxing as well.

Afternoon was most communication about the various bits and pieces and running around like a chicken with her head cut off to herd things into place.

By the time evening rolled around I was exhausted, and John was very cool and we went to Whole Foods and just shopped and shopped and shopped, and filled a grocery cart with way more food than I probably really needed, which is one of the hazards of shopping while hungry and tired. But it was good stuff and satisfying to stock a little as it'd been a while since we really grocery shopped. John took care of dinner. He made potato chip chicken and I cut up and cooked one of the zucchini in the microwaves until it was soft and hot and yummy. We had bought fresh, sweet corn and I cooked that while he did the chicken and it came out crisp and marvelous. That was really good as dinner.

We then sat and watched episodes of From the Earth to the Moon, which Kathy had given to us. The first of the two episodes we watched was the buddy story of Apollo 12, and then the media story of Apollo 13 kinda left a bad taste in my mouth. Kathy had shown us the 12 one before, and I loved it the second time as well. It was just so immensely more upbeat than the other, and it really worked out, for me, as a tale and a lesson. That was really interesting to find out, that it meant that much for me for it to 'work out' in the end.
