8:34 pm: Jet had another really bad night last night, and both of us are pretty trashed. With the trip happening tomorrow, it's going to be the third trip we've taken while completely trashed for sleep. What's worse is that I can feel Jet's cold trying to take me. I really don't want to travel sick, but I'm not sure I'm going to have much of a choice.
I had a possible 9 o' clock meeting, and talked with Joan last night about getting Jet to her early. So I showed up while they had the minivan warming up and I just put Jet's car seat right into the van along with his bag. Alex was already outside, and Joan came out when she saw me. They loaded up as I left for work.
I got there in plenty of time and got to skip most of the 9 o' clock meeting. I wasn't quite as lucky with my 10 or 11 o' clock. I got Jet in plenty of time and we went home to nurse. He played in his high chair while I ate my lunch, and had a pretty good time while I had my 2 o' clock meeting. We then went downstairs and I gave him some solids, and we played for a while on the livingroom and kitchen floors.
His nose is dryer today He's not spraying everyone and everything anymore, and not dropping on everything. I'm glad there's some improvement. I'm pretty sad he's sick again so soon after the other cold. I'm pretty glad that we'll be out for a week, and maybe when we come back I can check on Haley and Alex's health before seeing what I want to do with him while Kathy's about to come. She really doesn't need a cold on top of everything else.
When Jet was really tired, we sat down on the couch and he nursed and we napped for a while. Then he just sat in my lap, really limply while I watched the Jackie Chan cartoon, which is pretty cool. It was the second episode and I really like Jade.
John came home with dinner again. Yay! He had stopped by the Japanese restaurant and brought home katsudon, which is a pork cutlet on rice with soup and egg and onions poured over the top. It's was very tasty, especially with the really hot miso soup. I really needed the soup.
We are really trashed. I did manage to get all the laundry done, and Jet had a great time rolling around in the warm laundry. He even threw himself backwards onto a soft, warm pile, just for the fun of it. It was really cool watching him play in all that. John said that he remembered playing in piles of laundry when he was a kid. I thought that was pretty cool.
John and I have folded it all up. We've made the lists. I think that's all we're going to do. Our flight is an afternoon flight, so we should have some morning time to actually do all the packing and stuff. I suppose that will be enough. I don't feel like I'm on vacation, yet, eventhough I am.
My teeth hurt. I have no idea if it's because I'm so tired, or if the stress of al this is resulting in me grinding my teeth during the day without my guard. Or if it's actually my bite. Or if it's just that the nerves in my teeth are still tender enough that any kind of irritant just brings them back to life again. It's better than the last couple of days, but it's still discouraging that they still ache.
Logically, I shouldn't worry about aching until next week. I can't do anything about it anyway.
And we'll see what we can do about Jet's sleep tonight. Dosing him with all the usual stuff and keeping the humidifier going while he's asleep all should help. I think he's past the worst of it, but is pretty tired himself. He hasn't napped all that much today, so I'll hope.
